Some children with disabilities use the services of a personal care
attendant in their homes. At PACER, we hear stories where the relationship
works well and others where there are struggles.
If your child has a personal care
attendant (PCA) at home, what have you done to help the PCA and your child
develop a good relationship?
My sons PCA is with him after school for 3 hours. She is amazing and does not give in. She is creative in rewards he volunteers at the local animal shelter with her and she is involved with the consequences. We use many toold with him. Stop light, 1,2,3 magic. breathing and exercises.
